Leonard A. Sharp of Tuscola passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2008.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the Tuscola United Methodist Church with Revs. Jack Stephens and Michael Berry officiating. A private burial will be held at the family plot in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Coleman, Texas.

Leonard was born on November 27, 1928, in Novice, TX. He was the son of the late Arch and Mary Sharp. On August 22, 1953, he married the late Barbara Ann Bradham Sharp in Novice, TX. Leonard was a graduate of Novice High School and Hardin Simmons University. Before retiring in June of 1990, he was the business manager for Jim Ned CISD for 29 years, and also served as a Tax Assessor Collector for the surrounding area. Leonard served our country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Left behind to cherish his memory is; one son, Larry Alan and wife Suzann Sharp; one daughter, Katri Elaine and husband Joseph Chmielewski; grandchildren Tiffany and husband Jonathan Davis, Michael Chmielewski, Monica, Karli and Jared Sharp; Joseph Jr. and wife Charity Chmielewski, and Taji and husband Eric Sperber; great-grandchildren, Eriq Chmielewski, Carson and Presley Sperber; and one sister, Christine Whitley of Abilene, TX. Also surviving are three special sister-in-laws, Ellen Bradham of Portland, Texas, Rosiland Fuller of Flower Branch, Georgia and Lillian Sharp of Fort Worth, Texas, as well as various nieces and nephews.

Leonard was a wonderful, loving, and caring husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all. His grandchildren will never forget his favorite saying of "Life's to short, eat desert first."
