Mary Annette Boozer Saverance

(March 6, 1944 ~ December 14, 2015)

Mary Annette Boozer Saverance, daughter of Harold Boozer and Mary Catherine Porter, married to Sidney Lavon Saverance and buried in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Abilene, Taylor County, Texas.

Annette Saverance was born March 6, 1944 in San Angelo, Texas and died December 14, 2015 in Abilene, Texas. She is survived by Sid, her husband of 53 years; daughters Paige Schmedemann and husband John of Boerne, Texas and Lee Wallace and husband Rickey of Abilene; her sister, Lori Sims, and husband Phil, of Irving, Texas; her twin grandchildren, Nick Schmedemann who attends Kansas State University and Abby Schmedemann who attends Texas A&M University, and Rynn and Maeve Wallace of Abilene. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father Mary and Harold Boozer.

Annette accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at six years of age and was a loyal follower of Him for the rest of her life, being an avid bible reader and faithful prayer warrior. She was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church since 1966 and dearly loved the Lydia Sunday School Class and her many friends that she attended with.

She worked in banking for most of her adult life and retired five years ago.

Annette loved to cook for her children and grandchildren, and was “famous” for her homemade rolls and chocolate cake. She found her true happiness not in things, but in family and friends. She probably never uttered a bad word about another human being.

Though she was a cancer victim 21 years ago, she endured, and even though there were some difficult days she never complained about her health situation. Her faith in Christ never weakened and even though her last years of life were difficult she still never complained. What an inspiration to her family and friends she has been. We thank God he has allowed us to be a part of her life.

Thanks to the GANG of dear friends who have become family. We thank the wonderful Hendrick Hospice Care staff for their amazing service and for making her last days peaceful and comfortable.

A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Memorial Park on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 3:30pm under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. A celebration of life service will follow at 4:30pm at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, 701 South Pioneer Drive. Visitation will follow at the church. Officiating will be Brother Stan Allcorn and Dr. Jeff Reid.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cancer Services Network, 100 Chestnut Street, Suite 100, Abilene, TX 79602 or Hendrick Hospice Care of Abilene, 1682 Hickory Street, Abilene, TX 79601.
