Robert Carroll Fry, age 73, passed away on January 7, 2018, at his home in Meadowlakes, Texas surrounded by family.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Boles and Juanita Fry. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lynda, his sons Courtland Murphy, Sean Murphy, and daughter, Heather Fry Cussimanio, Sean’s wife, Sherry, Heather’s husband, Tony, and Robert’s grandchildren Kailey, Taryn, Morgan, Brendan, Colton, and Capriella; sister, Judy Brinck, her children, Cindy Britt and husband Eric, Robert Brinck and wife Laura, and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was born in Abilene, Texas on September 10, 1944. He was raised in Tuscola, Texas, graduated from Jim Ned High School, and furthered his education at Midwestern University in Wichita Falls; he later earned a Graduate Degree from SMU School of Banking.

His banking career began in Abilene, Texas in 1965 with Citizens National Bank. In 1979, he moved his family to Austin, Texas where he joined United Bank of Texas as Vice Chairman and was later promoted to President. He left United Bank in 1987 and later moved back to West Texas where he accepted the position of president at American State Bank in Big Spring. He returned to Austin in 2000 when he joined Wells Fargo Bank, and retired from his banking career in 2010 and moved to the Marble Falls area.

Robert enjoyed running, gardening, loved boating, hunting, training his hunting dog, Jennie, cooking out, spending time with his children and friends and absolutely adoring every one of his grandchildren.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on February 4, 2018 @ 1:00 PM at the Zilker Park Clubhouse located at 2100 Barton Springs Road in Austin, Texas.
