Mary was born on January 28, 1936, to Hill Vandiver and Evelyn Elizabeth (Hafner) White in Tuscola. She attended school in south Taylor County and graduated from South Taylor County, as a proud Tiger, in 1954.

She married Robert Davis on December 11, 1954, in Abilene.

Mary worked for twenty eight years as the city treasurer for the City of Abilene. While working, she was a member of Municipal Finance Officer Association (MFOA), the National Association of Accountants (NAA), and the Jim Ned Valley Heritage Preservation. She was a fantastic record keeper, not only at work, but at her home also.

She and Robert loved to travel, throughout the United States and abroad. She enjoyed and was very talented at needlework with any kind of needle, from creating the new designs to repairing the old tried and true ones. When not sewing or knitting, she was out in her flower garden dividing flowers to give to her family and friends, and on occasion she could be found on the lake water skiing with Robert. She loved dogs and also named every cow Robert ever had. Her prize title and role was the role of favorite Aunt to her family.

She is survived by her husband, Robert of Winters, nieces, Vickie White, and husband Dennis of Winters, Marsha Murphy, and husband Tom of Maricopa, Arizona, Glenda Whitney, and husband Lloyd of Stamford, and Jana Howell of Abilene; sisters Kay Lippineatt of Abilene, and Vandalyn Josey of Abilene. She is also survived by her beloved great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
