David Rann Reddell, son of Arthur Rann Reddell and Viola Alice Zellner, married to Mary Kathleen Carson and buried in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, Abilene, Taylor County, Texas.


      

David Rann Reddell, 81, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at a local nursing center in Abilene. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Southwest Park Baptist Church with Mike Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory Street, Abilene. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home located at 542 Hickory Street.

David was born on July 9, 1931 to Arthur Rann and Viola Alice Zellner Reddell in Tuscola, TX. He was a lifelong resident of the big country and married Kathleen Carson on August 22, 1953 in the Elliott's Chapel which is now Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home on Hickory St. David was employed by the city of Abilene, dedicated to serving his community as a Fireman. He retired after 35 years of devoted service.

David was an avid outdoorsman and loved taking his kids and grandkids hunting and fishing. He was the type of man that could do anything. David was a member of Southwest Park Baptist Church and also served in the National Guard.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Kathleen; one son, Russell Alan Reddell; two sisters, Delores Woodson and Elwynn Roderick; and one brother, Mikey D. Reddell.

Survivors include two sons, Randy Reddell and wife, Karla of Abilene and Dennis Reddell and wife, Alicia, also of Abilene; one daughter-in-law, Sherry Reddell of Abilene; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
