Veronita Caroline Englert Hillin

Veronita Englert Hillin, 76, died Sunday, November 26, 2006, at an Abilene medical center. The daughter of Lena (Fiest) and Ferdinand Englert, she was born on August 14, 1930 in Olfen, Texas, and lived in Abilene most all of her life. Veronita married Raymond Hillin on April 12, 1950 in Abilene.

Veronita Englert Hillin, 76, died Sunday, November 26, 2006, at an Abilene medical center.

The daughter of Lena (Fiest) and Ferdinand Englert, she was born on August 14, 1930 in Olfen, Texas, and lived in Abilene most all of her life. Veronita married Raymond Hillin on April 12, 1950 in Abilene. She worked for Wal-Mart as sales clerk, and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events.

A son, David Lee, her parents, and two brothers, Jerome Englert and Eugene Englert preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Hillin of Abilene; a son, Freddie Hillin and wife, Cathy, of Clyde; a daughter, Neta O'Bar and husband, Mark, of Abilene; her twin sister, Leonita Miller and husband, Sonny, of Abilene; grandchildren, Shanna Dumas, Cassi Hillin, Ashley Hillin and Steven O'Bar; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral mass will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Bush officiating. Interment will follow in Drummond Cemetery directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. today followed by visitation from 7 to 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Walter Morrow, Mark Samford, Steve Evans, Jimmy McElreath, Doug Schmitt and Jeff Burns.
