Billy Don Willis, son of Dick Willis and Jewell Maud Preslar, married to Barbara Joyce McCollum and buried in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Abilene, Taylor County, Texas.

Billy Don Willis, 73, of Abilene, passed away at his home on July 6, 2010.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 9 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Southwest Park Baptist Church, 2901 South 20th with Brother Mike Woodard officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Arrangements are being made by The Hamil Family Funeral Home.

Billy Don was born in Lawn, Texas to Dick and Jewell Willis on March 30, 1937. He graduated from Lawn High School and electrical training school. He married Barbara McCollum on August 31, 1956 in Abilene. He worked with Willis Electric Company for 50 plus years. He was a member of Southwest Park Baptist Church and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Billy Don was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Jewell Willis; two brothers, Roy and W.T. Willis; and one sister, Fern Carr. Don is survived by his wife, Barbara Willis; his daughter, Donna Wise and her husband, David, of Abilene; another daughter, Sharon Hill and her husband, Greg, of Oviedo, Florida; his brother, Lonnie Willis and his wife, Maggie, of Garland; two sisters, Dickie Haggard and Anita Dumis and her husband, Mack, of Abilene; his sister-in-law, Sue Willis of Abilene; four grandchildren, Andrew and Will Wise, and Collin and Haley Hill; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Bill Dawson, Barry McCollum, Weston Willis, Scott Willis, Ray Garza, Bland May, and Pat Bechtel. Don's golfing buddies will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682 Hickory, Abilene, Texas 79601. The family of Billy Don wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hospice and all of those who cared for Don during his illness.
