Jerry Don Willis

(December 5, 1937 ~ May 4, 2011)

Jerry Don Willis, 73, died Wednesday May 4th, 2011 at his residence after battling a long illness. Service will be held 10:00am Saturday May 7, 2011, at the Lawn Church of Christ with burial to follow at Counts Cemetery, directed by Fry ~ Bartlett Funeral Home, Tuscola. Roy Meyer will officiate. A visitation will be held Friday, May 6th, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home in Tuscola.

Jerry was born on December 5, 1937 to M.H. (Major) and Thelma Willis in Santa Anna. The Willis's later moved to Lawn where Jerry became a Lawn Longhorn graduating in 1956 from Lawn High School. Jerry was a life long resident of the big country area.

Jerry married his wife Sue in 1959 in El Paso, Texas. They settled in Abilene for the next 20 years, raising their three sons, Larry, Jeff, and Kerry. Jerry and Sue moved to Anson before returning to the Jim Ned Valley Area.

Jerry retired from Lone Star Gas in 1995 after spending 30 years in service. The last twenty years was spent as office manager in Anson. Jerry enjoyed his retirement years farming in Lawn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Sue, of 51 years. Three sons, Larry and wife, Alesha and their children Andrew, Katie, and C.J., son Jeff and his children Caleb, Derick, Kasstin, Kandice, and Natalie, and son Kerry and wife, Traci and their children Amanda, Kasey, and Jerry Don; and three great grandchildren Brianna, Brandon, and Brilynn.
