Billie Doris 'Bitsy' Aldridge Hendrix, daughter of James Douglas Aldridge and Clarice Ozane Wood, married to Claude Eddings Hendrix and buried in Tuscola Cemetery, Tuscola, Taylor County, Texas.

Tuscola - Bitsy Hendrix, 81, died on Sunday, December 23, 2018. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 28, 2018 in the sanctuary of Lawn Baptist Church, directed by Fry-Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home.

TUSCOLA: Billie Doris “Bitsy” Hendrix, 81, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Friday, December 28, 2018 in the Lawn Baptist Church sanctuary, Troy Barrington officiating, directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home in Tuscola.

Bitsy was born at home in Goldsboro on October 23, 1937 to James and Ozane (Wood) Aldridge. She attended school in Lawn graduating as a Lawn Long Horn in 1955.  

She met C.E. Hendrix and they married her senior year in high school.  After graduating, she joined C.E. at his Navy station and then when C.E. joined the Marine Corp, Bitsy spent the next 22 years as a Marine Corp officer’s wife and mother to three children.

Bitsy and C.E. moved back to Tuscola where she went to work at various jobs until she settled in as an insurance adjuster. Bitsy was a member of Lawn Primitive Baptist Church, she was a part of Altrusa, and served as president for several years.

Bitsy loved to travel, loved her family, and was known for entertaining. Her passion was reading.  She was an avid reader, not passing up the chance to find a good book.

She greeted everyone with a smile and was always ready to give support and encouragement to her family and friends.  Bitsy always maintained a positive outlook to life.    

Bitsy is survived by her two sons, Eric Hendrix (Lea) of Oklahoma City, OK, Mark Hendrix of Nashville, TN; brothers, Larry Aldridge (Bit), Denny Aldridge (Mary); grandchildren Kalyn Hendrix Estrada (Alex), Erica Hendrix, Mark Hendrix (Lindsey), Kaycee Hendrix Brown (Drew), and Jordan Hendrix Jones (Jeffery); and great-grandchildren Xavier Estrada, Sophia Estrada, Aurora Estrada, Kevin Estrada, Tanner Hendrix, Talon Hendrix and Kendall Howard.

Bitsy was preceded in death by her parents, James D. and Ozane Wood Aldridge, husband, C. E. Hendrix(1987), daughter, Shannon Hendrix Defrees(1995), and grandson, Kevin Michael Hendrix (2015).
