Sudie Jane Turner, 79, passed away December 22, 2013 at her home in Hamlin. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 26, 2013, at the Hamlin Church of Christ, with burial following at Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, with Drew Tomlinson officiating, directed by Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Thursday before the service.

Sudie was born May 24, 1934, to Hillin and Berna Lee (Cross) Hancock in Stanton, Texas. She graduated from Lawn High School, and married John B. Turner on July 10, 1954, in Lawn. A longtime resident of Hamlin, Sudie served as the secretary at the Church of Christ for 20 years. She also worked from her home as a seamstress. Her hobbies included sewing, watching football, crafting, cooking, painting, and gardening. She loved her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Sudie was a member of the Hamlin Church of Christ.

Sudie is preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Turner; her daughter, Kathy Jane Brooks; her sisters, Bess Laird and Lucy Robbins; and her brother, Joe Curtis Hancock.

She is survived by her sons, John Alan Turner and Danny Arthur Turner, both of Hamlin; her brother, Hillin Hancock, Jr.; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
