Lora Belle Lackey Wallace Dickey, daughter of Charles Howard Lackey and Annie Bell Shaw, married 1st to Alonzo 'Lonnie' Wallace, married 2nd Robert Dickey and buried in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Abilene, Taylor County, Texas.


Lora Wallace Dickey, 79, died Sunday, 23, 2005, at an Abilene care center.

The daughter of Annie (Shaw) and Charles Lackey, Lora was born on November 14, 1925, in Ovalo, Texas, where she was reared and graduated from Ovalo High School. In 1944, she moved from Ovalo to Abilene. She worked 20 years as laundry supervisor at Abilene State School, 14 years for Timex, and 4 years at Lankford Garment Co.

Mrs. Dickey was a member of Wylie Baptist Church.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Lonnie Wallace (d.1992); a daughter, Helen Bradford; her parents, Annie and Charles Lackey; sisters, Faye Preston and Kathy Hatfield; and a brother, Leroy Lackey.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Dickey of Abilene; sons, Danny Wallace and wife, Carolyn, of Abilene, and Bobby Ray Wallace and wife, Ruth, of Sweetwater; a son-in-law, Ross Bradford of Hawley; a sister, Juanita Lackey of Abilene; a sister- in-law, Hazel Berry of Navasota; 9 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
