Ralph LaVaughn Adams, son of Chester Thomas Adams and Velma Wilma McMillon, married to Alma Jane Allen and buried in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Abilene, Taylor County, Texas.


Ralph LaVaughn Adams, 86, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012 in Abilene. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 25th in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South. Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday at Elmwood.

Ralph was born on September 8, 1926 in South Taylor County the son of Chester T. Adams and Wilma McMillen Adams. He married Jane Allen of Ovala on January 1, 1949. They were married for 64 years. In January of 1945 when Ralph was a senior in High School, he was drafted to serve his country during
WWII. He served in the 11th Airborne Paratroopers until 1947. Ralph worked for Cabot Gas Supply from 1948 until 1988, starting out as an office clerk in Kermit, Texas and ending his career as Area Manager Superintendent in Monahans, Texas.

Survivors include his wife Jane of Abilene; his children, Randy Adams and wife Myra, Rusty Adams, Rodney Adams and wife Denise, and Rhonda Nash and husband Kenny; three grandchildren, Justin Adams, Lance Adams and wife Line, and Ashley Adams; and two great grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Adams and wife Donna; two sisters, Mary Phipps, and Patty Rosson and husband Ken; and brother-in-law, Jake Popnoe.

His parents and three sisters, Fern Adams Wood Beaver, Janie Adams Smith Thompson and Willa Glyn "Bitty" Adams Popnoe preceded him in death.
