Maxine Brown, 87, died Saturday, May 8, 2010. Graveside services will be 2:00 Monday, May 10, 2010, in Tuscola Cemetery, with Dick Atkins officiating, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home in Tuscola. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Maxine was born October 25, 1922, in Tuscola, to Horace and Belle Briley Embree. She and her husband Edgar Brown were engaged in farming and ranching in the Tuscola area until his death in 1969. In 1972 she moved to Abilene and later to Plano to be near family. She was especially devoted to her grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a member of the Highland Church of Christ in Abilene.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; and one sister Eloise Glover.

Survivors include one daughter, Judy Elliott and husband Dennis of Plano; one sister, Jacqueline Walker of Houston; four grandchildren, Justin Elliott, Jillian Elliott, Chase Elliott and wife Ashley, and Sagan Elliott; and one great-grandchild, Amelia Elliott.
