Marguerite, daughter of William Parker Ballard and Demby C. Papasan, married to G.C. Cross and buried in McBee Cemetery, Ovalo, Taylor County, Texas.

Marguerite Cross, 88, died Friday, April 9, 2010, at her home. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. in McBee Cemetery east of Ovalo, with the Reverend Bill Alexander officiating, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home in Tuscola. Visitation will be today, Saturday, April 10, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Marguerite was born May 1, 1921, in Ovalo, to Parker and Demby Papasan Ballard. She was a long-time resident of the Ovalo area and graduated from Ovalo High School. She married G. C. Cross November 15, 1941, and lived in San Angelo during the World War II era from 1942 to 1948. She was a homemaker and a member of Tuscola United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband.

Survivors include one son, Darrell Cross and wife Linda of Ovalo; one grandson, Cody Cross of Ovalo; one granddaughter, Kelly Calvert and husband Kris of Arlington; one brother Bill Ballard of Houston; and several other relatives and friends.
