Roy Wilman Peoples, son of James Albert Peoples and Iva Mae Lawrence, married 1st Patsy Rae Marshall, married 2nd Iva Mae Whitten Early and buried in McBee Cemetery, Ovalo, Taylor County, Texas.

Roy W. Peoples, 86, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, March 17, 2013 at McBee Cemetery on C. R. 614 in southern Taylor County. Mike Greenfield will officiate. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 4 to 6 in the afternoon at the funeral home, directed by Fry~Bartlett Funeral Home, Tuscola.

Roy was the son of James and Iva Mae Peoples. He was born on November 11, 1926 in the Rogers community. He started school in Lawn and graduated from Ovalo High School in 1944. Immediately after graduation Roy joined the United States Navy and served in the Philippines on P.T. Boat 1132 as a radio/sonar operator.

He married Patsy Marshall in June of 1946. They raised a son and two daughters in Abilene while he worked in sales for Delta Solvents, retiring as general manager in 1991.

He married Iva Early, in 1999 and for several years they enjoyed traveling the United States in their RV.

Roy was a member of the American Legion and of the VFW. He loved his family, the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and golf. He loved the casinos and a "good meal."

He is survived by his wife Iva Peoples of Abilene, son Ronnie Peoples and wife Beverly of Abilene, daughters Sandy West and husband Jim of Abilene, Karen Choat and husband John of Tuscola, sister-in-law Lota Marshall of Abilene, eight grandchildren, Jeff and Eric Peoples, Mandy Benedix, Tammy Tyler, Angela Toomer, Tracy Bowermaster, Amber McMullen, and Andy Choat, nine great-grandchildren Maegan, Alex, Zach, Madison, Mackenzie, Kaitlyn, Garrett, Katie and Brady, and one great great-grandaughter Kendalyn Jae, born on the same hour Roy passed.

He is also survived by his step-son Troy Early and wife Mona of Richmond, Texas, step-grandchildren Tricia Davis, Nicole Waggoner, Desiree Bourgue, two step-great-grandchildren Noah and Maya Waggoner, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy in 1994, adopted parents, and his birth parents Robert and Samathia Williams, seven brothers and three sisters.
