Nell was born on December 10, 1928 to Leona and Coldon Papasan on a ranch near Ovalo, Texas. Nell was 84.

Nell married the late Conda O. Richards on May 1, 1949. They were married for 49 years. She and Conda were members of the GMC Travel Club and traveled nationwide in their GMC motorhome for many years. She lived on the Chadbourne Ranch near Bronte, Texas and in Ballinger, Texas.

Nell was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bronte. She was also a proud member of the Coke County Red Hat Society and was an avid supporter of the Fort Chadbourne Foundation.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Jimmy Papasan, and her grandson Michael Thornhill.

Nell is survived by her three children; two sons, Brian Richards and wife, Cynthia of Lubbock, Garland Richards and wife, Lana of Fort Chadbourne, and one daughter, Sallie Richards of San Antonio. She is also survived by her sister, Patsy Fort, brothers Bobie Papasan and David Papasan. Grandchildren include Conda Richards and wife Tami, Chuck Boecking and wife Monique, Alisa Plumley and husband Steve, Brent Boecking and wife Anna, Sharla Littlefield and husband Les, Neil Boecking and wife Melanie, Michelle Kiser and husband Beau, Sarah Foster and husband Chuck, Jade Angel and husband Kenneth, and Cody Moore.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Kim Kenner and Becky Watson, Odyssey Hospice and the staff at Bronte Health and Rehab Center for taking care of Nell.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 18 at Fort Chadbourne Cemetery in Bronte. Memorials may be made to the Fort Chadbourne Foundation at 651 Fort Chadbourne Road, Bronte, Texas 76933. Arrangements are with Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger.
