Viola Doris 'Vi' Fisk Chandler

(February 25, 1926 ~ February 11, 1994)

Vi, daughter of John Roscoe Fisk and Jim Ella Casey, married to Charles Franklin Chandler, Jr. and buried in Tuscola Cemetery, Tuscola, Taylor County, Texas.


TUSCOLA — Vi Doris Chandler, 67, of Abilene, who taught at the Stenograph Institute of Texas in Abilene for 13 years, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Tuscola Cemetery with Dr. George Gaston officiating, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home.

Mrs. Chandler was born in Tuscola and graduated from Tuscola High School. She attended Amarillo Junior College and moved to Abilene in 1946 from Amarillo. She worked at various ladies dress shops for eight years. She was a former member of ABWA and was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.

Vi Doris Visk and Charles F. Chandler To Marry July 21

Mrs. Jim Ella Fisk of Tuscola is announcing the engagement of her daughter, Vi Doris, to Charles F. Chandler, Jr., son of Mrs. P.S. McCullough of Amarillo.  The couple will be married July 21.

Miss Fisk is a 1946 graduate of Amarillo Junior College.  She was vice president of the sophomore class and a member of Sigma Phi Chi sorority.
