Elsie Lee Sanders

Elsie Lee Sanders, 93, of Caldwell, formerly of Winters, died Monday, October 2, 2006 in Caldwell. She was born October 21, 1912 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the first of nine children born to John Samuel and Mattie Eugenia Wedgeworth Sanders. They moved to Runnels County when she was a small girl. She graduated from Bradshaw High School in 1933 as Valedictorian. She was a retired sales clerk and a member of First Baptist Church in Winters.

Survivors are: two brothers and two sisters, Morris Sanders and wife Gladys of Abilene, Wilford Sanders of Caldwell, Lucille Walker of Conroe, Fannie Mae Sanders of Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Lakeview Cemetery with Rev. Barry Taylor officiating. Services handled by Winters Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Winters Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. Thursday until service time.
