Lorena Eve Barker Claxton

May 12, 1918 - March 28, 2015

Lorena Eve Barker Claxton, daughter of Milburn Flanders Barker and Addie Matilda Catherine Nite and married to Oda Dee Claxton.

MAY 18, 1918 - MAR 28, 2015 Lorena slipped away from this life on Saturday, March 28, 2015, to a far better life to where she was longing to go. She was born in Red Rock, Texas, but moved to Taylor County, Texas with her parents and siblings at a young age. She was married to O.D. Claxton in 1937 and a few years later they moved to California with their 2-year old son, Dean. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Oakdale and enjoyed worshipping there as long as her health allowed her to go. She enjoyed her many crafts - sewing, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, applique for quilts. She enjoyed her home very much but enjoyed her work outside the home as well. She was a bookkeeper for a lumber company for many years and building contractors occasionally for several years. She was predeceased by her only son, Dean, 2 years ago, her husband, O.D. Claxton, her parents, Milburn and Addie Barker, 4 brothers, and 1 sister. Lorena is survived by 2 grandsons, Michael (Trudy) Claxton of Modesto and David (Janice Claxton of Saginaw, Texas; a brother, Albert (Marge) Barker; and sister, Doris (Don) Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews, including great and great, greats.
