Arthur Slone "Pete" Frymire, age 89, of Sweetwater passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 10:00AM Saturday, July 29, 2017 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Matt McGowen officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:00PM at Tecumseh Cemetery 12 miles south of Abilene. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at McCoy Funeral Home.

Pete was born January 23, 1928 in south Taylor County to the late William Alex and Rufina (Adams) Frymire. He married Majaunta Jo Betcher February 18, 1950 in Taylor County. They moved to Sweetwater in 1956 from Taylor County, where he worked for El Paso Natural Gas Company as a clerk for thirty years and began ranching in Nolan County. He was a member of the Southwest Cattleman's Association and was active in the Local Elk's Lodge for many years.

Pete is survived by his wife of 67 years Majaunta Jo Frymire of Sweetwater; son Kenneth Frymire and wife Judy of Sweetwater; daughters Brenda Suggs and husband James "Buzz" of Sweetwater; Jill Fleenor and husband Wayne of Louisville, Kentucky; and his brother Harold Frymire and wife Lettie of Abilene. He is also survived by his grandchildren Trilece Weyman of Oplin, Texas; Steven Weyman and wife Mindy of Lampasas, Texas; Sloan Goldberg of Tampa, Florida; Jax Goldberg of Louisville, Kentucky; and great-grandsons Hayes and Holt Weyman of Lampasas.

Pete is also preceded in death by a sister Rose Meise, brothers G.W. Frymire and Carl Lee Frymire. Pallbearers will be Jax Goldberg, Steven Weyman, Darrell Gilbreath, Robert Stone, Sid Frymire and Phillip Allard. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mccoyfh.com.
