Dorris Faye Ragsdale Roberts

(October 28, 1924 ~ February 10, 2021)

Dorris Faye Ragsdale Roberts, daughter of Thomas Franklin 'Tom' Ragsdale and Nora Victoria Porter, married to Kenneth Allred Roberts and buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Winters, Runnels County, Texas.

Dorris Faye Roberts, 96 passed away at Hendrick Hospice Center on Wednesday February 10,2021. She was born into a loving family of 8 children on October 28,1924 to Tom and Nora Ragsdale in Chillicothe, TX. She was salutatorian of her Ovalo High School class. Dorris married Kenneth Roberts, of Winters, TX on August 4, 1955. Together they raised two sons Joe and Don Roberts.

They had a life full of adventures that the Air Force provided. Dorris loved her family! She was a hard worker who had as many as 3 jobs to provide for her family in the early years. She later cared for elder family and seniors in the community well into her eighties. She loved music, dancing, gardening, swimming at the YMCA and would welcome any challenge to a game of bridge or 42!!

She was a member of Elmwood West United Methodist Church.

Dorris was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, and son Dr. Don Roberts. Dorris will be lovingly remembered by her son Joe and wife Brenda of Atlanta, GA, granddaughter Dr. Lyndi Roberts Smart and husband Ken of Abilene, TX, grandson Mike Roberts of Anson, TX , great grand kids Tate and Jake Smart and Kinzie Garrett, and her devoted daughter in law Beverley Cunningham.

A memorial service will be held graveside at Lakeview Cemetery in Winters, TX on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. Lakeview Cemetery is located on Highway 83 north of Winters.
