Troy Ervin Rosson

(July 7, 1929 ~ October 11, 2021)

Troy Ervin Rosson was born in Winters, Texas on July 7, 1929 and left this earthly home Monday, October 11, 2021. He is preceded in death by his lifelong love, Eunice Rosson, his parents, Robert Ellsworth and Cleta Rosson, brothers, Robert Kenneth Rosson and James Milton Rosson. Troy is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Troy married Eunice Sanford on October 23, 1948. They were together for 72 wonderful years. Their love knew no bounds and grew with every passing day. If ever there was an example of forever love, it could be found in this couple. 

Troy worked for AT&T for 31 years. After retirement from AT&T, he enjoyed farming and tending to his cattle. Troy was an avid sportsman and especially enjoyed baseball, golf, and hunting. 

Troy was a Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge for 60 plus years and served as Worshipful Master of Hope Lodge in Comanche as well as Worshipful Master in Merkel Lodge No. 710. He was 32nd Degree Mason and belonged to the Suez Shrine Club. 

Throughout his life, Troy resided in numerous Texas towns. After retirement he lived in Comanche, Merkel, and Granbury. He was a member of the Merkel First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Comfort is found knowing that Troy was saved by grace through his faith in Jesus Christ and we will see him again one day! 

Visitation will be held prior to service Friday, October 15, 2021 from 10:00-11:30 AM at Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel, 201 Edwards, Merkel, Texas 79536. Services is Friday, October 15, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, 301 Locust Street, Merkel, Texas 79536. Graveside to follow at Elmwood Memorial Park, Abilene, Texas.
