She was known to her friends as Miss Pearl and to some as Mamma Pearl. She was raised on a farm and ranch operated by her father in Runnels County east of Winters. She attended school in Crews, and Winters but graduated as a Lawn Longhorn class of 1946. She was a housewife and homemaker until she began working for the JIm Ned School system as a cafeteria cook at the elementary school and high school. She then went to work for Timex in Abilene to help put her son Larry through college at Tarleton State University. Later she moved to the new Texas Instruments plant and worked for TI until her retirement in 1991. She served as a Quality Control Specialist for TI. Miss Pearl was always a talented seamstress. There was not much of anything that she could not sew, knit, crochet, or needle point. She sewed apparel for family and friends with "bling" before that was even an art form. Miss Pearl in her later years spent many hours sharing meals at Vicki's in Tuscola where she cultivated friendships that have lasted even after her passing. She was well known for sharing her french fries.

She was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers as well as numerous sisters-in-laws, nephews, and nieces.

Miss Pearl's family has asked that instead of sending flowers to please consider donating to the Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief effort through you favorite charity, church, or through the American Red Cross.
