Shirley Jean Hudson, 82, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at a local medical center in Abilene. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., today, Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Tuscola Baptist Church, Tuscola, Texas with Brother DeWayne Bush officiating, under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 North 2nd Street, Abilene, Texas.

Shirley was born on February 13, 1931 in Doland, South Dakota to John and Annetta Scovell Jansen. She was employed as Lawn city secretary. Shirley volunteered for the Granny Squad, Red Cross, Abilene Independent School District, and worked as a librarian at Jim Ned School.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Hudson; a daughter, Pamela Butner; a brother, Roland Jansen; a grandson, Travis Hudson; and a granddaughter, Katherine Terrell.

Survivors include a son, Gary Hudson and wife, Elaine; two daughters, Suzanne Bradshaw and husband, Steve, and Annetta Hudson; two brothers, John Jansen and Veryl Jansen; three sisters, Linda Thiesen, Vallerie Abernathy, and Cheryl VanZee; grandchildren, Sharlena Page, Christina Hudson, Joseph Butner Jr., Sharon Bartolo, Eric Bradshaw, Zachery Bradshaw, Sara Boyles, and David O'Shields; and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Our sweet mama and grandmother, Shirley Hudson, has gone to be with the Lord.
