Mary Anna Atwell was born November 21, 1958 in Albany, Texas to Sylvia (Leech) and Jerry Atwell. She graduated from Jim Ned High School in 1978 and continued her education at McMurry University where she played basketball and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Mary moved her family to Albany in 1987 and joined the community by volunteering to coach her children’s many sporting endeavors. She continued to be her children’s biggest fan all throughout their education and was the loudest cheerleader at all events. Mary loved her family big and cherished every memory she was able to make with them. Mary never met a stranger and always made everyone around her feel like they were talking with a lifelong friend. She worked for the post office in Lueders and enjoyed sports and gardening, but her greatest joy and accomplishment was being a mom to her four kids and their friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thelma and Arthur Atwell and Anna Lea and Duncan Leech.

Mary is survived by her four children, Makenzie Marshall, Meagan Marshall, McKade Marshall, Andrew Cauble; her mother, Sylvia Atwell; her father, Jerry Atwell and wife Monica; one brother, Jerry Don Atwell and wife Edie; one sister, Teresa Yates and husband Wayne; and countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who she loved dearly.

Mary will be remembered by her family and friends as a joyful soul who could always make you laugh and bring life to any situation. Her smile and laughter will be missed by all who knew her.
