Carolyne Ann Sanders, 70, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. in Rogers Cemetery. Gayle Potter officiating, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday June 7, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Carolyne was born to Marion and Margurette Hastings on September 13, 1940 in Abilene, Texas. She was in the first class to graduate from Jim Ned High School. She later became a registered nurse upon graduation from Angelo State University in 1981.

She married Leroy Sanders in Coleman on July 7, 1958. They settled in South Taylor County buying their first and only home and raised their family. While raising their family Carolyne worked at the Abilene State School for 23 years. She started as an LVN then as an RN and ending as the school supervisor of registered nurses. She was proud to be a volunteer for the Special Olympics and camp counselor for special needs residents of the Texas State Schools.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Leroy Sanders, one daughter Nancy Ann Reves and husband John of Allen, Texas, Roy Lee Sanders of Orlando, Florida, Buster Sandera and wife Connie of Claude, Texas, Tracy Sanders and wife Allcia of Ovalo, Texas; three sisters, Diane Krummenacker, Betty Borde and Marilyn Mayfield; seven grandchildren, Natasha, Ryan, Brice, Rex, Paris, Hayden and Hadley.

Preceding Carolyne in death are her parents and one brother, David Mark Hastings.
