Tommy James Landers - Class Of 1960

Tommy James Landers

Tommy James Landers

July 27, 1942 - March 23, 2022

Tommy grew up in Lawn, TX. He attended Tarleton State University before enlisting in the United States Army. He spent 3 years serving his country in Germany, before returning to the United States. Upon his return he met the love of his life, Betty Landers, with whom he was married for 53 years.

He built a distinguished career in computer sales. After testing the waters of retirement, a couple of times, he decided that full time work was what he enjoyed best. He continued working full time in the mortgage services industry until the time of his passing.

Tommy fully enjoyed life. There are no words to encompass his greatness and how he improved the lives of others. He never met a stranger. He will be remembered as not only an outstanding husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, colleague, but as a one-of-a-kind friend, coach, and mentor.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Wright and Juanita Landers; mother and father-in-law, Jack and Mary Jane McGaugh; and brothers-in-law, Buddy Card and Don Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, their 4 children: Natalie Weaver and her husband Thom, Carla Peterson and her husband Chad, Jeff Landers and his wife Stacey, and Jodi Christopoulos and her husband Matt; 9 grandchildren: Courtney and her fiancé Brandon, Jourdan, Wade, Madison, Cole, Dylan, Katie, M.J. and Nate; his 3 great-grandchildren Kaylee, Brandon Jr. and Brycen; 5 siblings: Bob and his wife Roseanne, Beth, Wes and his wife Leda, Cliff and his wife Lorry and Betty Kay and her husband Mike; sisters-in-law Wanda, Mary Ann and her husband Mike; brother in law: Clovis and his wife Lois; and countless other family and friends.
