Hillin "Buck" Hancock, Jr.

Goldsboro - Hillin "Buck" Hancock, Jr. suddenly passed away at his house on December 31, 2020, at the age of 76.

He was born in Rogers to Joe Hillin and Bernie Lee "Cross" Hancock. He attended Jim Ned School and graduated in 1962.

He married Karan Messerla in Buffalo Gap on February 10, 1968. He went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad and retired in 2005. He moved to Goldsboro and enjoyed the last fourteen years ranching, hunting, and spending time with his family.

He loved the outdoors; he was a teacher to his kids about the outdoors and enjoyed their sports, coaching little league. He and Karan traveled often to craft shows and antique shows. When not traveling to craft shows they often traveled to Colorado, Florida, and Missouri. During his spare time, he tinkered on projects around his ranch or in his woodshop.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Karan Hancock (2004) and then his second wife LaRie Hancock in (2017).

He is survived by a son John Hancock and wife Samantha of Belton; daughter Melissa McCoy and Husband Steve of Abilene; three grandchildren Tanner Kielman and wife Mariah of Loveland, CO., Caitlyn Hancock of Killeen, Luke McClellan of New York, NY., and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 11:00am in the Tuscola Cemetery, officiated by Mark Moore, directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 4, from 6 to 8:00pm in the funeral home.
