Michael Roy 'Mike' Kilpatrick

February 12, 1951 - October 28, 2000

Mike R. Kilpatrick, 49, of Lawn, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000,in an Aspermont hospital. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South, with the Rev. Price Mathieson officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Kilpatrick was born in Abilene and lived in the Abilene area most all of his life. He was a graduate of Cooper High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from McMurry University. At the time of his death, he was an eighth grade mathematics teacher with the Coleman Independent School District.

He married Carla Smith in Abilene. He was a member of Lawn Baptist Church. He was an Eagle Scout and active in activities at Camp Tonkawa for Boy Scouts. He was a member of Traditional Bow Hunters of Texas and the National Rifle Association. He was also a member of South Taylor County Lions Club and Association of Texas Professional Educators.

Survivors include his wife, Carla Kilpatrick of Lawn; two daughters, Carolyn Kay Kilpatrick of Abilene and Casey 'Chele Kilpatrick of Austin; a brother, John Kilpatrick of California; two sisters, Pat Meiron of Elm Valley and Susan Kilpatrick of Abilene; a granddaughter, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
