Bob J. Cook, of Dudley, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 24 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Rev. David Cason will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Anson.

Bob was born September 27, 1929 in Lawn, Texas to Bond and Mae Belle (Colbart) Cook. He graduated from Lawn High School. Bob served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. September 19, 1958, Bob married Janice Hinkle in Abilene, Texas. He worked in the Signal Department for the Santa Fe Railroad for 10 years. Bob retired after working 32 years as a Switchman for the Missouri and Pacific Railroad. He lived in Big Spring and in Odessa for a period of time while working on the railroad, but for the majority of his life he has resided in the Abilene area. Bob was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Bob is survived by his wife, Janice Cook, of Dudley; one sister, Marcheta Mayfield, of Lawn; one sister-in-law, Frances Horton, of Abilene; one brother-in-law, Alfred Ham, of Leuders, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the West Texas Rehab Center, 4601 Hartford Street, Abilene, Texas 79605; or to the donor's favorite charity.
