Sleeta Jane Swindle Edwards

(July 17, 1935 ~ April 17, 2023)

Sleeta Jane Swindle Edwards, daughter of David Cason Swindle and Ardelia Jane 'Ardie' Atkins, married to Billie Gene Edwards and passed away in Temple, Bell County, Texas.  Cremation was chosen.  Sleeta attended a few years at South Taylor Flying Tigers with the class of 1953.

How does a son and daughter write an obituary for their precious mom – By the Grace of God, Sleeta Jane Swindle Edwards. Sleeta was born July 17, 1935, to parents Cason Swindle and Ardie Jane Alkins. Sleeta was escorted to Heaven on April 17, 2023.

She had two children: Randall Gene Edwards and Rhonda Edwards Davis.

We will dearly miss our mother’s laughter and lectures, sometimes, but her legacy will live on in each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren’s hearts. We love you mom more than you love us because you have loved us only part of your life, but we have loved you for all of ours.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Billie Edwards, parents Cason and Ardie Swindle, sisters Nora Minatre and Ladale Larkin, brothers Dorman Swindle, Clifford Swindle, Wayne Swindle, Lloyd Swindle and Herman Alton Swindle.

Sleeta leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Randall Gene Edwards of Temple, daughter Rhonda Davis and husband Dale of Brownwood, six adorable grandchildren and fifteen precious great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two brothers Lee Swindle and wife Peggy of Temple and Bill Swindle and wife Patsy of Abilene, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
