Ella Jane Titsworth Black

(January 14, 1925 - January 6, 2001)

Ella Jane Titsworth Black, daughter of Elmer Wilson Titsworth and Jewel Aileen Hill, married Henry Crawford 'H.C.' Black, Jr. and buried in Ryan Cemetery, Tarkington, Liberty County, Texas.  Lawn Independent School District Home Economics Teacher (1950-1951).

Services for Ella Jane Black, 75 of Atascocita, Texas were held at 2 p.m. January 10, 2001 at the Atascocita, Texas United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Stutes and the Rev. John Berny officiating. Burial followed at the Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home of Dayton.

Black died January 6, 2001 in Kingwood. She had taught 16 years in Tarkington, living there for 28 years before moving to Atascocita.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeana Bakke and husband Rick of Atascocita; brother, Harvey Titsworth of Deerfield, Ill.; sister, Aileen Bravenec of Seabrook; and granddaughters, Randi Lynn Bakke and Katie Eileen Bakke.

Her brothers were: Dr. Robert Titsworth and Cornelius "Bo" Titsworth.
