After graduation I attended Howard Payne for two years.
Patsy and I married in 1955 in Lawn by Rev. Handley.
A back injury shortened my oil field experience and I began classes at McMurry while working at Abilene State School. Graduated in 1961 and taught, coached, drove a bus and did clean up at Merkel for five years before returning to the state and worked for the MHMR dept for 15 years before a 21 year tour of fifth grade in the Leander ISD.
Patsy and I both retired and living across the fence from our daughter and six grandchildren.

There wa a story of a teacher with a gun in her purse (true) but she gave special powers to the Supt and told her students that he could see what we were doing even when she left the school for a short while. I still don't think he could.
Or when the big boys whittled the uprights on the boys restroom and took the top off.
Someone held the feet of a high school freshman and dangled him upside down in front of the windows to the first and second grade.
