November 19, 1924 - August 9, 2014

Jackie was born in Tuscola, TX on November 16, 1924 and baptized into the Church of Christ at 12. She worked and went to school in Abilene then moved to San Francisco to work for Southern Pacific Railroad for 3 years. She moved to Houston and worked for Exxon for 41 years and retired in 1990.

She loved and desired to help others. She opened her home to people receiving treatment at Houston Medical Center for months at a time. She also helped those affected by the polio epidemic by allowing them to visit as their families stayed at her house. She aided many others suffering through the stress of illness. She was blessed with the opportunity to help so many.

In her neighborhood she organized and was president of the Civic Club. She and her husband built their home in 1955. All 3 of her children were adopted while they lived there.

Her children are Randall Walker and wife Radele, Lisa Simon and husband, Andy, and Jennifer McMillan and husband, Scott.

She has 8 grandchildren: Carlo Bertani, his wife Ellie, Lacy Goedeke, her husband, Greg, Kelly Walker, Bethany, Rachel and Andrea McMillan, Jerry, and Ragan Manning. She has 3 great-grandchildren: Tony Bertani, Vince Bertani, and Finley Goedeke.

Christina Bertani is a person she loved very much and is the mother of Carlo, Lacy, and Kelly.

Memorial services will be held at Memorial Oaks (13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX). Visitation will be Tuesday, August 12, 5-8 p.m. and funeral services will be Wednesday, August 13, 10 a.m. Graveside services will be held by Fry Bartlett Funeral Home in Tuscola, TX August 14, 10 a.m.
