Gwynelle Johnson, 74, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Hendrick Hospice. A funeral service will be held at 3:30pm Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Buffalo Gap, Steve Joiner officiating. Burial will follow in the Tuscola Cemetery, directed by Fry~Bartlett Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7pm Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the funeral home.
Gwyn was born on June 19, 1939 to J.K. and Melba (Yoes) Johnson in Abilene. She was lifelong resident of Abilene, where she raised her two sons.
She worked 27 years as secretary to the District Attorney of Taylor County.
She is survived by her sons Kenneth Welch of Brenham, and Fonzie Johnson and wife Jennifer, and their children Seth, Jayden, and Jeremiah of Bastrop; uncle Bernice Johnson of Tuscola; sisters, Anita Dison and husband David and their son Kyle of Abilene; Carolyn Teten and husband Richard and their children Toni and Matt.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
