TUSCOLA – Luna Jane Mitchell, 67, died Friday, May 19, 2006, at her residence. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2006, in First Baptist Church with Reverend Buddy Goodgame officiating. Burial will be in Tuscola Cemetery, directed by Fry — Bartlett Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jane was born September 5, 1938, to Flavious Edgar and Dorothy Alice Graham Roberson in Tuscola. She married Roy Clay Cupps July 11, 1958, in Abilene and divorced in 1970. On February 5, 1972, she married Floyd O. "Bud" Mitchell in Abilene and the couple moved to Tuscola from Abilene in 1976. Bud died September 29, 1992. She owned rental property in Abilene and Tuscola for thirty years. She was a former member of the Tuscola City Council, served as mayor for a term, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Tuscola.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Bud; three sisters, Beulah Inez Roberson, Eunice Faye Swindle, and Alice Rhea Duncan; one son, Roy Clay "Bull" Cupps, Jr.; one step-daughter, Yvonne Faulks; and one step-grandson, Tommy Shaver.

Survivors include four daughters, Dorothy Ann Allmand of Tuscola, Connie Michelle Best of Ovalo, Betty Jane Hudson of Abilene, and Amy Mitchell Biggs of Tuscola; one step-son, Bud Erwin Mitchell of Lubbock; one step-daughter, Cheryl Taylor of Idalou; ten grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
