Alvin Patrick Edwards, son of Alvin Murel Edwards and Ada Lee Brown and buried in Dewey Cemetery, Lawn, Taylor County, Texas.

Alvin Patrick Edwards 70, of Abilene passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2005. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Dewey Cemetery, with Chris Hale officiating, under the direction of North's Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 - 7:30 p.m. Friday at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street.

Alvin was born November 1, 1934 in Ovalo, Texas, to Murel and Ada (Brown) Edwards. He graduated from Lawn High School and Ranger Jr. College with a degree in business. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 - 1957 in Korea.

Alvin moved to Abilene in 1953 and worked in the automobile business until his stroke in 1974.

He is survived by one son, Alvin Patrick Jr.; one brother, Deloss Edwards of Abilene; two sisters, Patsy Harney of Wichita Falls and Darlene Burton of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Ryan, Regan and Trey of Abilene and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank all for the kindness and condolences that have been shared. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, Red Cross or Hendricks Hospice Care.
