Willie Edwards, 78, of Clyde died Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in a Clyde Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Clyde Church of Christ with Jim Cox officiating and David Peterson assisting. Burial will follow in the Clyde Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the funeral home.

Born December 6, 1933 to Charles and Willie Keller, Willie was the youngest of four children. She attended Lawn Schools and enjoyed playing basketball. She graduated from Lawn High School in 1952. She met and fell in love with James Carrol Edwards; they were married on September 30, 1953 in Clyde. During their marriage of over 58 years James and Willie were blessed with three sons, Rickey, Randy and Ronnie, whom she raised with love, faith, and compassion. Willie was an active member of the Clyde Church of Christ. She enjoyed worship gatherings alongside her church family. James and Willie enjoyed fishing and camping trips together.

She loved and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. Willie had a career working and caring for the young, elderly, and disabled at West Texas Medical Center, Clyde Nursing Home. She retired from the Abilene State Supported Living Center after over 20 years of service.

She is survived by her husband James, of Clyde; sons Rickey and wife Gail of Breckenridge, Randy and wife Elaine of Clyde, Ronnie and wife Rachel of Fulshear; eight grandchildren, Nikki Edwards-Anderson of Breckenridge, Danella Edwards of Houston, Zan Wilson and husband Ty of Baird, D'nae Edwards of Abilene, Derek Edwards and wife Tiffany of Clyde, Hunter Edwards of Breckenridge, Allison and Emily Edwards of Fulshear; three great-grandchildren, Blake and Chase Lee and Layton Anderson all of Breckenridge; sister-in-law Joyce Edwards of Clyde, along with numerous nieces, nephews and close family friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Willie Keller, brothers Steve Keller and Wayne Keller, sister Ruth Keller, and brother-in-law Lyndon Edwards.
