Monta J. Appleton Kellar, 53, formerly of Eastland, died Saturday, July 31, 2010, following a traffic accident earlier. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 2, 2010, in Buffalo Gap Cemetery, with the Reverend Graham Gutting officiating, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home in Tuscola.
Monta was born September 10, 1956, in Abilene to Gene and Frances Mackey Appleton. She was raised in Buffalo Gap and was a graduate of Jim Ned High School.
She lived in Eastland until 2009 when she moved to Arlington, then back to Buffalo Gap this year. She was a Baptist.
Preceding her in death were her parents and grandparents.
Survivors include two sisters, Randie Lou Appleton of Connecticut, and Melinda Posey; one aunt, Peggy Appleton of Snyder; two daughters, Shonda Smith and fiancé Angel Gonzales of San Antonio and Kristy Kellar and fiancé Klifton Boggs of Eastland; six grandchildren, Blake Kellar, Tyler Smith, Paige Smith, Aiden Gonzalez, Nathan Boggs and Riley Boggs; cousins, Judy Appleton Smith and husband Rickey, Sue Appleton Mathews and husband Larry, Price Appleton, Connie Appleton Miller and husband Vic, Rita Appleton Hagins and husband Kerry, and Sammy Appleton and wife;friends, Clay and Joni Kellar; many other friends; and her beloved dog, Tiny.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the I.C.U. nurses in John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth.
