(May 9, 1933 ~ December 31, 2019)

Coy Allen Tate, son of Floyd Monroe Tate and Edna Viola Short, married to Marylyn Kate Logan and buried in Buffalo Gap Cemetery, Buffalo Gap, Taylor County, Texas.  Elmwood Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Abilene, Taylor County, Texas in charge of funeral services.

Coy Tate, 86, our beloved father and grandfather passed away peacefully on December 31, 2019.

Coy was born on May 9, 1933 to Floyd and Edna Tate and grew up in Tuscola. He was preceded in death by his brother Bobby Rex Tate, his father, Floyd Tate, his mother Edna Tate and his son, Carl Tate. Coy is survived by his daughters, Neeca Leitao and Cindi Dawson (Robert).

Coy is also survived by his grandchildren, Jordan, Laine, Jack and Anna Kate.

Coy graduated from McMurray College and served in the US Marine Corp. Later, he worked in Abilene and owned Taylor County Ford Tractor.

Coy loved to restore old cars, collect antique toys and was a member of the local V8 car club.

Family and friends enjoyed Coy's sense of humor and warm welcoming nature. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
