Bobbye Dale Roberson Dorsett, daughter of Ed Louis Roberson and Mary Lounett Bryant, married to Harlan Rusk Dorsett and buried in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, Abilene, Taylor County, Texas. 


Bobbye Dale Dorsett, age 78, passed away July 5, 2011 in West Des Moines, Iowa surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 23, 1932 in Thackerville, OK to Ed and Mary Lounett Roberson. They moved to the Abilene area in the mid 1940's and she graduated from Jim Ned High School.

She married Harlan R. Dorsett on July 1, 1950. Together they worked for Browns Downtown in Abilene and owned and operated Dorsett's Melody Shop. She was a member of the Abilene Quilters and she had a love for the outdoors, swimming, beading and quilting. She also loved music, especially Frank Sinatra. Her favorite flowers were the sunflower and daisy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlan; and brother, Batson Roberson.

Survivors include her son, Rusk Dorsett and wife Beth of West Des Moines, IA; daughters, Susan McQuade and husband Joe of Abilene and Donna Dorsett of Abilene; sister, Billye Geneva Hill of San Angelo; grandchildren, Noel Kalmus, Caitlin Dorsett, Kylie McQuade, Noah Dorsett and Becca Dorsett; nieces and nephews, Doug Nowell, Margo Johnson and Lynne Fritsche.

A Memorial Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery.
