William Walton 'Pete' Hicks

(July 11, 1922 ~ June 27, 1995)

William 'Pete', son of Roscoe Lincoln 'Otto' Hicks and Della Pauline Garrett, married 1st to Arnold Maxine Foster, married 2nd to Iola Virgie McDaniel and buried in Resthaven Cemetery, McCamey, Upton County, Texas.


MCCAMEY - William Walton 'Bill' Hicks, Sr., 72, of McCamey passed away Tuesday, June 27, 1995, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Resthaven Cemetery with the Rev. Murray Sauders officiating.  Arrangements under the direction of Richard W. Box Funeral Home.

Mr. Hicks was born July 11, 1922, in Runnels County.  He moved to McCamey in 1947 and was a barber from that time on.  He married Maxine Foster Sept. 4, 1943.  She preceded him in death Jan. 28, 1989.  He married Iola Munro April 30, 1989, in McCamey.  He was a Baptist and a member of Oil City Masonic Lodge.  He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife, Iola Hicks of McCamey; daughter, Dollie Lynch of McCamey; son, William 'Bill' Hicks Jr. of Hobbs, N.M.; brother Donald Hicks of Ovalo; five grandchildren, Davis Hicks of Hobbs, Jana Hicks and Billy Hicks, both of Lubbock, Wayne Lynch of Odessa and Steven Lynch of McCamey.
