David Joe "Bo" Rose, 78, died Saturday, February 20, 2010, at his residence. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2010, at Lawn Baptist Church with the Reverend Price Mathieson officiating. Burial will be in McBee Cemetery, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home in Tuscola.

Bo was born July 12, 1931, in Content, to Bonnie Monroe and Lottie Mae Aldridge Rose. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He lived in Taylor County until the early 1960's when he moved to West Texas to work in the oil fields. He worked for Union Texas Petroleum in Texas and Oklahoma until he retired in 1988 and returned to Lawn in 1990. He was a member of Lawn Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Jean Shamblin; and one daughter, Tammy Bain.

Survivors include one son, David Joe 'Bo' Rose, Jr., and wife Mary of Monahans; one daughter, Kim Tippen and husband Kevin of Waco; five grandchildren, David Joe 'Bo' Rose, III, Rex Rose, and Amy Rose, all of Monahans, Jeremy Bain of Waco, and Jerrod Bain and wife Katherine of Houston; three sisters, Sue Shamblin and husband Doyle of Tuscola, Vondean Elkins and husband Robert of Tuscola, and Carolyn Moore and husband Dennis of Flower Mound; one brother, Danny Rose and wife Karen of Tuscola; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
