Sarah Elizabeth 'Sally' Bond Walden

(May 18, 1929 ~ August 3, 2013)

 

Mrs. Sarah (Sally) Walden, 84 was born in Ballinger, Texas on May 18, 1929 and passed away on August 3, 2013. She was the only child of Albert and Fern McBryde Bond. She married W.C. Walden, Jr. in San Angelo, Texas on August 17, 1947.

Mrs. Walden was a direct descent of the first settlers in the community of Maxdale, West Bell County, Texas.

Mrs. Walden was a member of the Maxdale Ladies Club since 1960, a member of the First Baptist Church of Florence, Texas and President of the Maxdale Cemetery Association. Mrs. Walden's achievements include procuring Texas State Historical markers for the Maxdale Cemetery the Maxdale Bridge and she served for several years as a Board Member of the Bell County Historical Commission.

Mrs. Walden was preceded in death by her beloved son Dennis Walden in 1995 and her husband W. C. Walden, Jr. in 2000.

Mrs. Walden is survived by her loving children Greg (Mancel) Walden, Marianne Sterling, son-in-law Randy Sterling, grandsons Beau, Dillon, Tyler and dearest family friend Frances Horton. She cherished her sisters of the Maxdale Ladies Club.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Maxdale Cemetery, Maxdale, Texas officiated by Dr. Woody Ray. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Maxdale Cemetery Association, 21180 Wolfridge Road, Killeen, Texas 76549, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or the .
