Barbara Allen Simmons Preslar

(October 19, 1929 ~ August 4, 2025)

Barbara, daughter of Allen Clyde 'Al' Simmons and Willie Jerrine 'Jerry' Rogers, married to Charles Ray Preslar and buried in Dewey Cemetery, Lawn, Taylor County, Texas.

Barbara Allen Preslar, 95, of Abilene passed away Monday, August 4, 2025, at an Abilene hospital.  A graveside memorial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Dewey Cemetery, near Lawn, with Rev. Burtis Williams officiating.

Barbara was born October 19, 1929, in Ovalo to Allen and Willie Jerrine (Rogers) Simmons. She graduated from Jim Ned High School in Tuscola and married Charles Preslar in Ovalo on May 24, 1947. She worked as a beautician for many years and had previously worked for Westwood Jewelers and Glen & Lotties. She was a member of Elmcrest Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Palmer and husband Jerry of Clyde and Peggy Preslar of Abilene; her sister, Marie Nabors of DeLeon; six grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by husband, Charles; her son, Mike Preslar; two sisters, Nancy Riggins and Joy Frymire; two half-brothers; one grandson, Jay Freeman; three stepbrothers; one stepsister and her great-great granddaughter, Rowan Easley.
