Winters, Texas - Nadine Foster, 81, of Winters went to be with her Heavenly Father on September 12, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Daphna Nadine Walker was born June 22, 1926, in Taylor County, Texas, to Leon and Gladys Walker. She married Warren E. (Shorty ) Foster on March 19, 1945, in San Bernadino, California. They returned to Texas in 1954, eventually settling in Winters. Nadine was a faithful member of North Main Church of Christ in Winters. She enjoyed the fellowship of her church family and volunteer work for Meals on Wheels.

Nadine was preceded in death by: her loving husband, Shorty Foster; her parents, Leon and Gladys Walker; a sister, Bonnie Bundas; and two brothers, Duane and Brian Walker.

Survivors are: her son, Bob Foster and wife, Doris of Kingsland; her daughter, Judy Steen and husband, Calvin of Hawley; three granddaughters, Kimberly Stringer, Debby Mata and husband, Ricky, and Crystal Bradshaw and husband, Jeff; a grandson, Blake Steen and fiance, Tiffany Mann; two great-granddaughters, Alyssa and Mollie Stringer; one sister, Rita Albro of Midland; three brothers, Bill Walker and wife, Jimmye of Wingate, Jerrell Walker and wife, Shirley of Ovalo, and Johnny Walker and wife, Ann of Ovalo; many loving aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family visitation will be at 6 p.m. Friday at the Winters Funeral Home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2007, at North Main Church of Christ with Jordan Hubbard officiating.

Burial will be in Shep Cemetery under the direction of Winters Funeral Home.

A special thank you to her caregivers, Tanya New and Donna Harris, for their love and compassion and to family and friends for their visits, phone calls and cards during her illness.

Pallbearers are: Jeff Bradshaw, Tommy Scates, Tony Truelove, John David Walker, Blake Steen, Ricky Mata, Bill Wayne Walker, and Larry Don Walker.
