Peggy M. Brolls, 79, died Wednesday, September 30, 2009, in an Abilene hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009, in First Baptist Church, Buffalo Gap with the Reverend Steve Joiner officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Gap Cemetery, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home in Tuscola.

Peggy was born June 6, 1930, to Glenn and Ella Mae Harrison Johnson in Buffalo Gap, where she was raised and spent most of her life. She married John Brolls April 25, 1984, in Buffalo Gap. She was an original member of Buffalo Gap Volunteer Fire Department, a charter member of Buffalo Gap Lions Club, secretary of the Buffalo Gap Community Business Association, and a former City Council member. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Buffalo Gap. She was involved in Taylor County Old Settlers Reunion, and was a "die-hard" Dallas Cowboys fan. Peggy was manager of the Bar-B-Que Barn for 37 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents and one sister, Glenna Haley.

Survivors include her husband, John Brolls of Buffalo Gap; one son, Larry Don Brookreson and wife Linda of Buffalo Gap; three daughters, Brenda Sue Tate and husband Roger Michael 'H. A.' of Dallas, Cynthia Lea Schranz and husband Kurt Alan of Buffalo Gap, Vicky Lynn Michaud and husband Michael Gerald of Oakdale, Illinois; two sisters, Joyce Glasgow and husband Joe of Buffalo Gap and Loyce Campbell of Klamath Falls, Oregon; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
