Harold 'Cotton', son of Taylor J. Johnson and May Ida Barnard, married to Peggy Gayle Christopher and buried in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas.

Dies, Rites Set

Harold B. (Cotton) Johnson, 54, 3422 60th St., Lubbock, a former Abilene resident, died at 11 p.m. Monday at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after a three-month illness.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ford Memorial Chapel of the First Baptist Church in Lubbock.  Officiating will be the Rev. J.T. Bolding, associate pastor of the First Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, under the direction of Resthaven-Singleton-Wilson Funerl Home.

He was a native of Ovalo born there in June 26, 1917.

He was a salesman for the past 25 years for Plains Machinery Co. of Lubbock.  He moved to Lubbock from Abilene in 1962.  He had been an Abilene resident for 16 years.  He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife of Lubbock; two sons, Chris of Dallas, and Craig of 3620 22 St., Lubbock; one daughter, Mrs. Jerry Denton of 5412 8th St., Lubbock; his mother, Mrs. Mae Johnson of Canyon; two sisters, Mrs. Avadelle Woodrow of Sherman and Mrs. Orla Hughes of Claude; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be W.D. Turner, Levi Maples, Bert Turner and Gerald Richardson, all of Lubbock; Ward Harrell of Amarillo, L.K. Nelson of Tahoka, Roy Knowles of Abilene and Marvin Churchwell of Plainview.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Plains Machinery Co. in Lubbock.

The family said that Memorial contributios may be made to Furrs Radiation Center at Methodist Hospital.
