Clyde W. Reid, 83, of Winters, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2011, at North Runnels Hospital in Winters. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 6, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bradshaw Baptist Church in Bradshaw, with burial in Bradshaw Cemetery, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home in Tuscola. Brother Ed Bigham will officiate.
Clyde was born on February 11, 1928 in Taylor County to Ernest and Minnie Shaffer Reid. He served in the
army during World War II. He was a farmer for 35 years and then served as bus driver for the schools for 15 years. He married Ada Green in 1947 in Abilene, and they lived for over 64 years in South Taylor County.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and is survived by his wife of 64 years, two sons, Clifford Reid of Tuscola, and Howard Reid of Winters, and one daughter, Brenda Schrader & husband Myron of Winters. Clyde is also survived by one brother, Verlon Reid of Abilene and wife, Doris, four sisters, Josie Hicks of Abilene, Ethel Grun and husband Russell of Moro, Ellen Walters and husband Cal of Moro, Leola Allmand and husband J. W. of Ovalo; two grandsons, Terry Day and wife Sammie of Ballinger, and Myron Lynn Schrader of Winters, one granddaughter, Marcie Lemelen & husband Tim of Ellsworth, Maine, and five great-grandchildren.
