Allen, son of Orbie Finis Bryan and Edith DeVore, married to Patsy Ruth Luckett and buried in Fairview Cemetery, Bronte, Coke County, Texas.


Crash Victim's Rites Pending

WINGATE - Funeral Arrangements are pending at Newby Funeral Home at Bronte for Allen Eugene 'Punk' Bryan 43, a native of Wingate.

Born at Wingate, Mr. Bryan was killed in a plane crash about 9 a.m. Tuesday in Alaska.

He was returning to his Anchorage home following a three-week tour of duty in the rowen Oil Company's North Bank fields, some 600 miles away.

First reports said the plane caught fire after it crashed trapping inside it Mr. Bryan and two company pilots.  Dense fog had prevented any attempts to reach the scene of the crash by late Wednesday night.

He was a 1945 graduate of Bradshaw High School.  He served in the armed services a short time after World War II and married Patricia Lovett of Bronte.  He has been employed with Rowen Co. for 18 years.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.F. Bryan of Ovalo; one brother; Joe of Winters one sister Mrs. Earnest Baker of California.
